Introducing OvidToday: Ovid’s Journal iPad App

OvidToday is an iPad app that allows you to browse the library’s OvidSP online journal holdings quickly and conveniently on your iPad.

What it Does:

  • Browse of all the library’s Ovid Journal Holdings – you can browse an A-Z title list or by category to find journals of interest
  • Personal Reading List – you can create a personal list of journals relevant to your practice, research or education
  • Latest Content Available Instantly
  • Allows Access Offline – read PDF articles anywhere you go even if you are offline
  • Allows Access at Home or On Site

How Do I Get It?

  1. Download the free OvidToday app in the iTunes appstore
  2. Tap “Let’s get started” and follow the on-screen instructions
If you are logged into or on the hospital network, the app should automatically recognize you.
  3. Enter an Ovid Personal ID
If you don’t have a Personal Ovid Account, OvidToday will prompt you to create one and provide easy-to-follow steps
  4. Start browsing favorite journals
You will have access to all the most recent issues of the hospital’s Ovid-subscribed journal content (will not include content from ClinicalKey or Gale); if the library has dropped a subscription then the most current issue up until the time the subscription was discontinued will appear.

For more information, visit or contact the library.

Doing Research Over the Holidays? Consider Off-site Access to the Library’s Resources

The Library will be closed and library staff will be unavailable during the Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years’ holidays but that doesn’t mean you can’t access the library and its resources. As always, the physical library will be accessible to clinical staff via their badges on a 24/7 basis. Off-site, online access to many of the library’s resources is also available, read on to find out how!

Physicians: If you are a Huntington Hospital affiliated physician you are able to access the library’s resources from your Citrix or CONNECT log in. See our Physicians Off-Site Access page to learn how. If you would prefer to have username/password access to a resource, please submit an Off-Site Access Resource Form or contact the library directly during business hours.

Hospital Staff: All other hospital staff, please fill out our Off-Site Access Request Form to be set up with access to selected library resources. Please allow 1 business day for account set up.
