Clinicians in the community and other areas of practice are approached by many patients for questions on complementary and alternative medicines (CAM). High utilization herbs and supplements are popular topics. Confusion exists amongst healthcare professionals on the role of natural products in integrative care. The Natural Medicines/Natural Standard Continuing Education programs are aimed at addressing the evidence of benefit or lack thereof and safety concerns surrounding the use of various CAM herbs & supplements.
